My wife, Bettye, and her sister Cheryl, recently came up with a great idea to build stained glass Crosses. Having built stained glass windows for 40+ years, I was enthusiastic to help them perfect their designs. Their initial concept was to take both clear or colored stained glass strips, attach to a work board, mix in liberal amount of clear broken glass, add various jewels, crowns or other metallic emblems ..... and then clear coat the entire project with poured epoxy resin equal to about 60 coats of varnish. Each Cross is unique and is hand made by Bettye in her studio in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The two sisters have perfected a number of unique glass designs combining stained glass with clear epoxy coatings.

Because Christmas was fast approaching, they experimented with glass Christmas Trees, poured with clear epoxy resin. Just as the with Crosses, the trees got rave reviews and friends encouraged them to build a few for sale.
