Dean's Stained Glass
In 2002, when my friend Stan suddenly became too ill to work on his stained glass hobby, his wife gave me his glass and tools. Included with his glass was this lighthouse pattern that Stan had always wanted to build ...... but just never got around to it.

I built this lighthouse for my friend, Stan. He saw it every day hanging in his home ....until he passed away in October of 2014.

Stan was my friend and one of my heroes.... a much decorated and courageous Vietnam War veteran. Stan Mayo ....Rest in Peace.....You will be missed!
Stan's Lighthouse measures about 23" x 28 1/2", contains 53 pieces of glass and was completed in January of 2003.

Stan's Lighthouse
And the story continues.....
Stan's Lighthouse is probably the most requested pattern on my website. Mary, a third grade teacher from Necedah, Wisconsin, contacted me looking for this pattern so that she could build this design for a friend. The original pattern came from a pattern book 30+ years old and long since lost in obscurity. Since the pattern was not available, Mary had to draw it from scratch. After completion, Mary sent me a picture of her project and I am proud to display her work along with the original. Then, a few months later, Mary built the same pattern again for another friend. Nice job, Mary!?
