My Son & I have a Financial Services Business that requires working with our local bank on a daily basis. For 10 years we have enjoyed a terrific working relationship with United Bank, a 100+ year old community bank headquartered in Atmore, Alabama. After a lifetime of dealing with national chain banks, it is amazing the level of service we receive from this small local bank.

As a project that evolved In my mind for years, this United Bank Window was finally completed and gifted to the bank in August, 2023. It measures about 28" x 54" and contains 198 pieces of glass. The Bank has plans to install it in a new branch, not yet built. I will post installed pictures when available.

In appreciation for our Bank's aid in building our business, I resolved to build a really classic stained glass window. Since our Bank was founded 120 years ago, I wanted to use styles of design and stained glass reminiscent of those early days. The center background glass is a clear seedy glass which when, combined with the clear beveled pieces, lets in maximum light and sparkles in the sun. The outside clear patterned glass and the 8 amber "pinchbacks" (cast glass) are pure Victorian era features. The lettering is period old style and is very close to the Bank's current logo lettering. The red and blue bands and the 12 red and 12 blue jewels help to give the window a patriotic"turn of the century" period feel. When finished, this piece was framed in a hand made solid dark mahogany frame ready to hang.
