Robin's Transom - Stained Glass Transom

Robin called me about building an interior transom for her new Craftsman style home in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She had created a space for a transom over the entrance to her living room from a hallway.

Robin told me she had built a number of stained glass items in the past, so I knew I was going to really have to be a perfectionist on this project!

She explained that she is a Graphic Artist by trade and that she had already designed her window to fit her space. She sent me a digital file so that I could get her drawing made exactly the perfect size for a pattern for her project! In 35 years of building glass, no one has ever given me an exact scale pattern to build from! I sent her a box of glass samples and she then colored the drawing and identified the stock number of each piece of glass ..... nobody could make this any easier. Robin's drawing is above.... just the way she sent it!

Robin's finished transom is above. Not only did Robin do all the design work on her transom....... she also sent some glass from her previous stained glass inventory that we used in her project.

Robin's Transom measures about 50" x 10.5", contains 41 pieces of glass and was completed in August of 2017. It is now proudly displayed in it's new home in Hot Springs, Arkansas

Robin was kind enough to send before and after installation pictures of her transom. What a marvelous installation job! It was such a pleasure to work with Robin. I don't often get a chance to work with someone who knew exactly what she wanted and was able to guide me to make it a reality!
