Guy's Transom
Guy contacted me because he liked "Greg's Transom" and wanted to build something similar for his home in White Pigeon, Michigan. He wanted a bright, cheerful transom to put over a door to a medicine closet at the end of a long hall. He plans to back light it with LED lights so that it would light up the hallway. We faced quite a design challange to fit a narrow opening that was only 7 1/2" high. After playing with several design ideas, we settled on a classic Victorian Iris / fleur-di-lis central element with trailing vines. Guy wanted opalescent glass for privacy and chose warm but bold colors for this striking transom.
Guy's Transom measures 7 1/2" x 30", contains 69 pieces of glass and was completed in May of 2008.
