Back in 1990, we needed a window for a half light back door in our then new house, so I built an Old English W window. For 27 years we enjoyed seeing that window every day

In 2017, our son built a new house. I removed this piece of glass from the back door, added a beveled border, built a maple frame and gave it to our son to hang in the entryway of his new home. See picture on the right.....

In 2019, we started construction on our new home....an English Tudor design we called The Ivy Cottage Project. Two years later we were finally finished, but realized we needed another half light window for privacy on our garage door. My wife, in a moment of extreme practicality, suggested that I build the same Old English W that we had in our old house. Luckily, the door was the same exact size, so I blew the dust off my original 30 year old pattern, and started construction. I tweaked the pattern a bit, changed a few colors....but the end result worked out perfectly for this space.

This window was completed in July of 2022, measures 22" x 36" and contains 87 pieces of glass.
