Dallas and Sandy contacted me about building a stained glass window just like Tuscan Terra (pictured on right). This window was built for a couple from Michigan who wanted an interior window that reminded them of the Tuscany region of Italy.
Dallas and Sandy have a ranch in Alberta, Canada, that is called the Crowfoot Cattle Company. They said they had the perfect place for a window inside their home and felt like Tuscan Terra was similar enough to the landscape in their area. We got acquainted by phone and Dallas & Sandy sent me a number of pictures of their ranch. After seeing the pictures (below), I knew we could come up with a design that could better depict their own unique landscape. Dallas requested cows ...... so I knew this was going to be an interesting challenge!

We found out that finishing the window was not our only challange. I built a wood crate and packaged the window for shipment from the Gulf Coast to Alberta, Canada. The 130 pound crate cost $365 to ship and was scheduled to arrive at its destination in 7 days. After the Canadian border, the crate disappeared for a week. We initiated a trace, our crate was found, and delivered 20 days after shipment, instead of the promised 7 days. When delivered, the whole wood bottom of the crate was missing and the window was literally touching the floor. After a 3000 mile trip and severe damage to the crate, our window amazingly arrived without a single piece of glass broken! Apparently Dallas & Sandy were meant to have their window!

Dallas and Sandy are some of the nicest and most patient people I have ever worked with. I hope the window we designed and built together will bring them much joy.... and warmth through those chilly Canadian winters!
